Book Donations Now Accepted at Sherman Oaks Library

library donationIf you caught Marie Condo fever during the pandemic and discovered that many of your books no longer give you joy, take heart. The Sherman Oaks Public Library is now accepting book donations.

The library is open from noon to 5 p.m., Mondays through Saturdays. Books to be donated can be put in the large book bin on the right after you pass through the security scanners when you enter the main library from the lobby. If you have more than three or four shopping bags or boxes of books, please call the library at (818) 205-9716 to make an appointment.

Some rules apply:

  • Donated items should be gently used.
  • CDs, DVDs, audio books and LPs are accepted.
  • Any donations that are not put in the bin inside the library or that are left outside the building will be tossed in the trash as specified by citywide library policy.
  • Any donations that are obviously dirty or appear to have bugs will also be trashed. Bringing such items into the library could cause a library-wide infestation of bugs.

The library is located at 14245 Moorpark St. Free public parking is on the west side of the building.
